I've reinstalled a game onto windows 8 pro which I had on windows 8 release preview. It worked fine before, and when I tried to start it the first time, it said I had a missing dll, which was fine, so I downloaded it and extracted into the sys64 folder. I then tried to open the game again. This time I got this error: 'The ordinal 42 could not be located in the dynamic link library C: WINDOWS SYSTEM32 xlive.dll.' The live programme I suspect the xlive.dll is referring to is microsoft games.

Xlive.dll actually comes in the 'Games for Live' package installer. Let’s download Xlive.dll from the following link and check if that helps.
